The Pitchess Fire has burned three acres in Castaic, near the Pitchess Detention Center, with forward progress stopped, officials said.

The brush fire, dubbed the Pitchess Fire, broke out about 5:45 p.m.ear the 29000 block of the Old Road in Castaic, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“The fire broke out near the front of the prison,” said Supervisor Cheryl Sims, spokesperson, for Los Angeles County Fire.
By 6:11 p.m. Friday, less than 30 minutes after the fire broke out, forward progress was stopped, according to fire officials.
While northbound lanes had been closed temporarily, CHP confirmed that by 6:20 p.m. on Friday all lanes had been reopened.
