A trash truck fire on the 5 Freeway Thursday morning in Valencia prompted a response from firefighters, officials said.
On Thursday around 8:40 a.m. firefighters received reports of a trash truck fire on the northbound 5 Freeway south of Highway 126 near the truck scales, said Sean Ferguson, an inspector for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“Units are on scene getting water on the fire,” Ferguson said.
Smoke is reportedly visible due to the size of the fire and the materials burning, Ferguson said.
As a result of the fire, crews emptied the load of garbage to fully extinguish the blaze, according to Fire officials.
There is no major traffic delays due to the incident taking place in the truck scales adjacent to the freeway, according to officials on scene.
