Kern County Firefighters responded to a wildfire in Lebec that began around 1 p.m. on the I-5N.

Several units have been dispatched to the area to support firefighting efforts, including aircraft support and fire crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fire was first reported at 1:35 p.m. on Sunday.
The Lebec fire — which began due to a automobile fire on the northbound side of the 5 Freeway just north of Frazier Mountain Park road — has already burned 60 acres.

Cheryl Sims, Supervising Fire Dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed supporting Kern County Fire Department in Lebec.
”We’re there on scene assisting them with resources,” said Sims.
