SCV Helps Sheriff’s Launch Website

New website offers up resources for citizens

[view:node_ad=5]The City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station partnered together to design, develop, and launch a new state-of-the-art Sheriff's Station website that will expedite the release and flow of information to the public and better serve the needs of the growing community.

The website, scvsheriff.com , will help educate the public on crime prevention matters, understand what the community wants and expects from their Sheriff's Department, and aid in notifying residents of current information critical to public safety by utilizing the new Santa Clarita Valley Alerts web notification.

“Through today’s technological platforms, we can provide real time information that is easily accessible to the community.  The new City and Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station website is an important resource for community members to learn about how our Sheriff’s Station is working that much harder to keep the public informed and safe,” commented Mayor Marsha McLean.

This web notification will be in addition to any current alert and notification systems already in place.  The Sheriff e-Notify and Sheriff e-Alert portions of the website will provide an area where community members can sign up to receive, directly from Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, information related to the latest news and press releases, Neighborhood Watch, SCV Alerts, the City of Santa Clarita's Sheriff's Business Alliance, youth programs, and "What's Happening" current events.

Future developmental phases of the site will include interactive crime and traffic information, streaming video and podcast capabilities, and a geographically smart databases for those who sign up to be notified of various sheriff related events and alerts.

Also being considered for future phases include: school safety and alert systems, detective bureau and other station resource areas, and Pitchess Detention Center (PDC) escape advisories – available via text message, which provides instant notification capabilities and direct feeds to community based news outlets.

“The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station is committed to enhancing all levels of service to the residents of the Santa Clarita Valley and intends to take your sheriff's station to the next level of service,” commented Chief of Police of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, Captain Anthony La Berge.
