SCV Jaycees Are Honored At Junior Chamber International Convention

khts_inthecommunity2Junior Chamber International Santa Clarita, also known as SCV Jaycees, recently attended the US Junior Chamber International National Convention held in New Orleans and returned with honors.

Members representing SCV Jaycees attended a wide variety of events including the “Ten Outstanding Young Americans Awards” and the “2009 Year End Awards”, at which the chapter garnered three very special awards.

Chapter division six of Santa Clarita Jaycees was given the title of “Number One Chapter In the US” for the fourth time in a row.

“40 Under 40”, an annual event awarding 40 dynamic leaders in our community chaired by Dawn Hovanessyan won the award “#1 Individual Development Project In The Nation”.

“JCI Training Weekend” led by chair Debbie Holbrook, won the title of “#1 International Development Project In The Nation”.

SCV Jaycees were also recognized by JCI California earlier this year for an outstanding first quarter, earning accolades for being the #1 Chapter in California, and having an outstanding President Claudia Sheridan, and outstanding Chapter Officer Debbie Holbrook.

Junior Chamber International Santa Clarita is a non-profit, non-partisan organization made up of tomorrow’s leaders and today’s up-and-coming young professionals, dedicated to leadership, community involvement, and personal and professional development.
