SCV Water is planning on sharing their garden knowledge during two free classes this month that “will get you thinking about your landscape design and ways to sustain it through summer,” according to SCV Water officials.
During the first class on Thursday, July 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., residents will be taught how to create a plan and design for plants and hardscape, determine the labor needed, as well as estimate and manage a budget.
Tim Wheeler, a certified arborist, water use efficiency practitioner and certified landscape water auditor, will be the instructor for the landscape plan and budget class.

The second class, which is scheduled on Saturday, July 21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., will allow residents to learn about the basics of a sustainable landscape.
John Windsor, a certified arborist and California certified nurseryman, will be the instructor for the sustainable landscape class.
Some of the learning points will include ways to preserve natural resources and be water wise.
All classes will be held at SCV Water, located at 27234 Bouquet Canyon Road in Santa Clarita.
