A good rule of thumb to follow when selecting the proper sized fixture for a dining area is one-half to two-thirds the size of the dining table.  So if you have a 60″ round dining table, select a fixture that is 30″ – 40″ in diameter.

WATTAGE

In the world of lighting,  the bulbs are called “lamps”. Select lamps that are 40 to 60 watts maximum to avoid over heating and harsh glare.

DIMMER SWITCH

Please have your electrician install a dimmer switch, you will be so much happier with the lighting options in your dining area when you can control the amount of light.  This option really allows you to create a romantic mood.

You may think a professional interior designer is cost prohibitive.  I ask you to think again!  I offer my clients flat rate fees and quick fixes and ideas that can transform a space rather quickly, and for a fair price.  Please call me at (661) 430-0127!
