If you want a simple way to revamp your kitchen or bath, try new door pulls for your cabinets. You can achieve a unique look for your cabinets through using household items as pulls.
Sea Glass
If you live near the beach or frequently trip to the beach, you can use beach glass as a new pull. You may need to purchase flat pulls if your existing pulls are rounded or decorative. With flat pulls you can easily glue the pieces of glass onto the pull and thus give your kitchen or bath a unique seaside feel. Make sure there are no sharp edges to your pieces of glass when undertaking this project.

Decoupage
Decoupage is the art of decorating using a combination of colored pieces of paper, paint and even gold leaf. Think almost papier-mâché. You can use your existing handles if they are not decorated and provide a good surface for you to place an image or design. Look for images from magazines, newspapers, or greeting cards. You can even use fabric as a design. You can give your kitchen the style you want with the use of colorful, romantic, or bold images.
Cutlery
Specifically for use in the kitchen, you can use your old cutlery for pulls or bend them to create a handle. Mismatch your knives, forks and spoons to give your kitchen an eclectic look. Remember to make sure all sharp points have been bent toward the cabinet or filed dull.
“Recently we have seen a rise in contemporary style kitchens. The hardware is of simple design and of brushed nickel. Hardware for a small to medium sized kitchen can cost from $200 to $300,” Steven Lenenberg of Canyon Kitchen and Bath said.
Serving Santa Clarita since 1988 Canyon Kitchen and Bath carries all of the mentioned products and is SCV’s one stop shop for all bathroom and kitchen remodels.
