Sean Fest Fundraiser February 1st To Fight Cancer

Sean_Fest_1As if fried chicken sandwiches, waffle fries and sweet tea weren’t enough incentive to dine at the Chick Fil-A restaurant in Valencia, the eatery will also be holding The Sean Fest Fundraiser for 20-year-old Sean Sebel as he battles stage 4 cancer.

“He has some good days and some bad, but he is a fighter,” says Event Coordinator Mark Samson.

A recent Valencia High School graduate, Sean has a rare form of cancer called “Synovial Sarcoma” and has just finished his fourth round of chemotherapy and radiation.

Sean is the son of local business owners Robert and Sue Sebel.

The Sean Fest Fundraiser will be held February 1 from 6:30 to 8:30. Chick-Fil-A owner Dustin Lachance will give the family a portion of the proceeds the restaurant makes during the event.

“Sean is part of our family at Chick-fil-A, and we will fight beside him on his road to beating cancer,” said LaChance. “We encourage the Santa Clarita community to join us as we rally behind Sean.”

Besides the food, the Sean Fest will feature musical performances by local artists Johnny Strat and percussion group “The Tribe.” There will also be a DJ on hand, a video game truck, a bounce house and a performance by the Valencia high school drum line and choir.

Sean_Fest_2Other highlights include a silent auction, with prizes including Lakers, Kings and Disneyland tickets, and a raffle with proceeds going to help the Sebel family meet Sean’s medical needs.

And for those willing to sacrifice their follicles, there will be a “Buzz Booth” where, for a $15 donation, attendees can show their support of  Sean as he undergoes chemotherapy, by having their own head shaved, buzzed, trimmed (or really get any style they’d like) by professional hair stylists from Shannon Hair.

Organizers encourage supporters to go through the Chick-Fil-A drive thru if they don’t have time to stay for the events.
