Seats Open Up For Newhall District Board

Three seats on the Governing Board of the Newhall School District are up for election this November.

The seats were previously held incumbents Bob Jensen, Mike McGrath, and Steve Tannehill.

Incumbent board member McGrath intends to run for re-election, while Jensen has announced his campaign for the Hart High School District board and will not be running for re-election to the Newhall board.

The election for three seats will be held on November 3, 2009, and the filing period for declaring candidacy is July 13th through August 7th.

Residents who live within the boundaries of the Newhall School District are eligible candidates.

The Governing Board of the Newhall School District is made up of five elected officials who set district policy, monitor business and instructional programs, and hold staff accountable for the conduct of district affairs.
