Senator George Runner Named To Key Committees

Senator George Runner (R-Antelope Valley) was named to serve on four key Senate committees in addition to the two committees that he currently serves on as the vice chair.

Runner will serve on the Senate Budget Committee as well as a member of the Budget Sub-Committee on Health and Human Services. Runner was also appointed to serve on the Senate Transportation and Housing Committee, Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee, and Senate Labor Committee.

With four years of experience as Vice Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee and now serving on the Senate Budget Committee, I will continue to fight against tax increases. Its critical to balance the budget by putting the brakes on out-of-control spending, said Runner.

I look forward to serving on the Transportation and Housing Committee to help cut the red tape and make it easier to build more roads and help Californians realize the American Dream of owning their own home, continues Runner. Serving on the Revenue and Taxation Committee and the Labor Committee will enable me to fight against more ridiculous and costly regulations or tax increases.

Runner currently serves as the Senate Republican Caucus Chair as well as the Vice Chair of the Senate Health Committee and the Vice Chair of the Senate Environmental Quality Committee.

Runner represents Senate District 17 which includes portions of Los Angeles County including Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley; and portions of Ventura, San Bernardino, and Kern counties.
