State Senator Steve Knight, R-Antelope Valley, is holding another Town Hall meeting at City Hall on Thursday, July 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in an effort to hear the concerns of his constituents and learn how to better serve them as their representative to the state legislature.

He will address several relevant topics, including the budget, taxes, water and legislation.
Knight said that one of the most important issues facing our district is Assembly Bill 109, which allows for low-level offenders and parole violators to serve their sentences in county jails instead of state prison.
He said the bill was responsible for “releasing criminals into our neighborhood.”
Chloride in the Santa Clarita Valley’s watershed is another issue affecting local voters.
Knight said that about 50 people attended the last Town Hall Meeting, held on a Friday night.
He hopes for a larger turnout for the upcoming meeting scheduled for a Thursday. Average attendance is about 100 people for town hall meetings across the district.
Knight is excited for the opportunity to talk with local residents.
“Meeting with these residents helps me to understand their concerns and to discuss issues important to our community and California,” he said. “It is a mutually beneficial event that I enjoy holding throughout my District.”
The meeting is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Sarah Tyndall at Knight’s Santa Clarita District Office, 661-286-1471.
