A couple of senior citizen bandits got away with $900 and some gold jewelry in a strong arm robbery in Canyon Country Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly after 1 p.m., the pair threatened their victim, a 73-year-old woman, taking cash and a gold bracelet and necklace before fleeing on Soledad Canyon Road. The victim was standing near a Kentucky Fried Chicken store near Whites Canyon Road.
According to a police broadcast, suspect #1 is described as a 65-year-old Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches in height, weighing 150 pounds. The suspect had black hair and was seen wearing baggy tan pants. He allegedly fled on foot in a westerly direction on Soledad Canyon Road.
Suspect #2 was described as a heavyset Hispanic woman with shoulder-length black hair, who was last seen driving an older-model gray van westbound on Soledad Canyon Road.
The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 255-1121.
