Senior Star Steels Show As Magic Mountain’s New Ride

He’s not just a dancing fool anymore.

He didn’t get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He got something better.

Mr. Six, the mascot of Six Flags Magic Mountain who proves every day that you’re only as old as you feel, now has his own roller coaster.

Set to debut this summer, Mr. Six’s DanceCoaster is designed for every level of coaster rider. Located close to the park’s latest coaster, “Terminator Salvation: The Ride,” this coaster is a little slower and more family friendly.

The 17th coaster in Magic Mountain’s collection is steel and 679 feet long with a 28-foot lift hill, reaching speeds of up to 21 miles an hour.

A single train, built to look like Mr. Six’s dance shoes, features eight cars that riders will sit two across in a single row for a total of 16 riders for the just under one minute ride duration.  Colors for the new coaster are in keeping with Mr. Six’s formal attire of black, white and red.

“Six Flags Magic Mountain is always looking for attractions that friends and families can enjoy together,” stated Jay Thomas, Six Flags Magic Mountain Park President.  “Mr. Six’s DanceCoaster is a ride that I’m looking forward to experiencing with my own children.  I am very pleased that we are adding this to our unmatched coaster collection at Six Flags Magic Mountain.”

Six Flags fun will be even more affordable in 2010 with a new, lower Play Pass price.  For just $54.99 (the price of a day’s admission), guests will be able to return any operating day during 2010.  Unlike other Southern California theme parks, Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Play Pass has no blackout dates and can be used for concerts and special events, including the Park’s annual Fright Fest event during October and New Year’s Eve.

Six Flags also offers a Combo Pass which is good for unlimited visits to both Magic Mountain and the adjacent water park, Hurricane Harbor.  In an unprecedented move, the price for the Combo Pass was lowered $15 and is now available for $74.99!

On sale now online or at the Park, the Play Pass is good at all Six Flags theme parks across the country and comes with a Bonus Book worth over $300 in value-added Six Flags offers, including free friend admission, free parking coupon, free Hurricane Harbor admission ticket, plus discounts on park food and merchandise.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is located at 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway, Valencia, north of Los Angeles off Interstate 5 at the Magic Mountain Parkway exit.  The Park is currently open weekends and school holidays.  Daily operation begins March 20.  For information call (661) 255-4111 or visit us online at sixflags.com for operating days and hours.
