The Golden Pen Writers Guild, comprised mostly of members of the SCV Senior Center creative writing class has produced the first in a series of literary collections called Life Lessons and Confessions. The compilation of short stories and poetry made its debut last Thursday at an Open Mike event hosted by the group at Panera Bread (McBean Pkwy and Baywood Drive) on the first Thursday of every month. The anthology is being offered for sale as part of a fundraiser for the SCV Senior Center, which was forced to cancel some of its programming due to a loss of funding earlier this year. The Golden Pen Writers Guild wants fellow residents to know that as they seek support from the community, they are also willing to contribute what they can toward sustenance of the Senior Center.
Life Lessons and Confessions will be on sale at Panera bread between 6:15 and 8:15 pm during the open Mike events. Color copies are $10.95 and black and white copies will be sold for $8.95 with all proceeds going to the SCV
Senior Center.
