Shafter Kidnapping Victim Returned By Local Deputies

An adult woman who was kidnapped from Shafter County and dropped off on Placerita Canyon Road was being returned home Thursday by local deputies, said Lt. Bill Wiess of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“We notified the police agency in Northern California that was involved,” Wiess said. ” As a courtesy, we’re meeting them halfway, but the crime did not occur in the SCV.”

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies helped bring the victim home by meeting the Shafter Police Department halfway in the Flying J Gas Station in Frasier Park, Wiess said.

The victim was dropped off in our jurisdiction,” he added. “As far as I know, the person was not harmed.”

Officials would not release additional details because it is an ongoing kidnapping investigation.
