Strong families make strong communities -Baca
Los Angeles County Sheriff Leroy D. Baca today endorsed the City of Santa Clarita ’s Open Space Preservation District. “An effective tool in deterring gang activity is to keep Santa Clarita’s undeveloped land as open space,” stated Baca. “More natural parkland means families won’t have to leave the Santa Clarita Valley to enjoy hiking, fishing and the great outdoors. Strong families make for a strong and safe community.”
The Open Space Preservation District is proposed to help the city preserve undeveloped land and create a greenbelt and natural parkland buffer of open space around the city of Santa Clarita .
For $25 per homeowner the Open Space Preservation District will help:
· Reduce future crime and traffic by purchasing open space so it ca never be developed.
· Finish the green belt around the City of Santa Clarita
· Preserve our hillsides
· Increase property values.
Sheriff Baca was sworn in as Los Angeles County 's 30th Sheriff, on December 7, 1998, having been elected by the citizens of Los Angeles County . Sheriff Baca commands the largest Sheriff's Department in the world and supervises more than 16,000 sworn and civilian personnel.
