Michael Phillipson, 56, of Saugus, was booked on an attempted murder charge Thursday, according to Sheriff’s Department records.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a home on the 27300 block of Catala Avenue in Saugus around 6:43 p.m. The elder Phillipson was booked less than an hour later.
Phillipson was allegedly arguing with his 23-year-old son over the use of a car, according to Sheriff’s Station records.
The victim, who was not identified by Sheriff’s Station officials, underwent surgery Thursday night. He was brought into the hospital in critical condition, but he is expected to live, said Detective Bryne, who’s investigating the case.
Phillipson is being held in lieu of $1 million bail, and did not have a court date, yet, according to Sheriff’s Department officials.
