Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Crime Prevention Unit arrested two men Thursday, including a registered sex offender, during probation-parole checks in the Canyon Country area of Santa Clarita.

Timothy Robert Goebel, 59, of Canyon Country, was arrested at 26724 Isabella Parkway in Canyon Country.
He is a registered sex offender on the Megan’s Law website, convicted of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age.
He’s listed on a KHTS AM-1220 Google Map listing all of the Santa Clarita Valley’s registered sex offenders.

He was arrested for possession of concentrated cannibis, a felony charge, according to Sheriff’s Station reports.
Justin Cookson, 30, of Canyon Country, was also arrested during Thursday’s parole checks.
He was contacted by Sheriff’s Station deputies at the 19800 block of Emmett Road.
“Deputies went there to do a probation search and found narcotics paraphernalia,” said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The suspect was also a suspect in a burglary at Walmart on The Old Road. He was arrested for possession of narcotics paraphernalia and a burglary charge.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies with the Crime Prevention Unit regularly conduct parole checks throught the Santa Clarita Valley on registered addresses.
In March, the checks led to deputies busting up a marijuana grow.

Last month, deputies found a sex offender who had failed to register his Stevenson Ranch address.

Goebel reportedly was living at the address registered in his name.
