Jaclyn Kemsley, 27, of Canyon Country, was arraigned in July on accusations she drove a taxi cab while under the influence at the Westfield Valencia Town Center mall back in May.

“She was charged with three counts — driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, driving with a 0.08 blood-alcohol content and unlawful vehicle operation,” said Sarah Ardalani, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

“She pleaded not guilty to all the charges,” she said. The charges also cite two previous convictions, one in 2006 and another in 2011, both for driving under the influence.

Kemsley is due back in court Aug. 20 for a preliminary arraignment, officials said.

From a previous story:

Kemsley called a cab to Lucille’s at 24201 Valencia Blvd., around 6 p.m. Sunday, according to a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrest report.

After the cab driver drove Kemsley about a mile, she asked her driver, whose name was not released by Sheriff’s Station officials, if he would help her move her car in the Westfield Valencia Town Center mall parking lot.

There was an ignition-interlock device on her car, Kemsley said, according to the Sheriff’s Station report, and so she asked the cabbie if he could move the vehicle so it didn’t get towed.

The cab driver agreed, so after locating Kemsley’s car, the driver went to move it, and when he returned to where he left his cab with Kemsley in the back seat, he noticed the car was gone and called the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies drove to the top of a Westfield Valencia Town Center mall parking lot structure near Macy’s and found Kemsley in the cab, behind the wheel, with the keys in the ignition, according to the Sheriff’s Station report.

After issuing a field sobriety test, the deputy arrested Kemsley on a driving under the influence charge.
The cab driver declined to press charges for the stolen cab, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrest report.
