Traffic investigators with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are looking into a major traffic collision that occurred in Saugus on Friday.

An official with the Coroner’s Office confirmed that Dylan Zimmerman, 20, of Valencia, was killed in Friday’s crash.
This collision took place on Copperhill Drive approximately 3:55 p.m., involving Zimmerman, who was driving a black Honda Civic, and a man and a small female child in a white Ford Fusion.
Preliminary information indicates the Ford traveling eastbound Copperhill Drive collided with the Civic, which was exiting Copperstone Drive, according to a statement from Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.
The driver of the Honda was treated by personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
He was transported to a local area hospital in severe critical condition, according to officials.
Fire officials administered oxygen to the driver of the Civic, and then when they got him out, administered CPR to him, according to a witness on scene.
None of the crash victims was identified by Sheriff’s Station officials.
Preliminary information did not indicate if drugs and alcohol were factors in the crash, according to an official statement, however there were no arrests made in the incident.
The condition of the other victim in the crash was not known Monday.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation and any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Detective Travis Kelly at 661-255-1121.
