Cory Allen Flenory, 27, is facing one count each of mayhem and vandalism over $400, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and a fifth count of domestic violence from an unrelated incident, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court documents.
“He was held to answer on all counts,” said Ricardo Santiago, spokesman for the District Attorney’s Office, noting the fourth count, vandalism, was reduced to a misdemeanor charge at the hearing.
The fourth count stems from a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station patrol car window Flenory allegedly kicked out after his arrest at his Valencia home.
On May 17, Flenory allegedly shot one of two victims in the eye after they attempted to confront him over almost colliding with his vehicle at a Walmart parking lot, the prosecutor said. The victim suffered permanent damage to her eye in the alleged “road rage” incident.
Flenory was combative upon arrest and kicked out the rear passenger, said Guy Shirley, deputy district attorney in charge of the case’s prosecution.
The felony complaint also includes one count of injuring a spouse for an unrelated May 5 incident also involving a BB gun.
Court documents also cite three prior convictions for Flenory.
Flenory is due back Aug. 26 for his arraignment, when he’s expected to file a plea.
He faces a possible maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted of all charges.
He’s being held at Men’s Central Jail in lieu of $1.25 million bail, according to Sheriff’s Department arrest records.
