Sheriff’s Cadets Run In Remembrance

“Colors Run” honors fallen deputy.

This morning, 72 members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Academy North joined with over 50 Sheriff’s Department personnel and supporters to run for their colors.

The run began at College of the Canyons, and winded along Rockwell Canyon Road, up McBean Parkway, to the Deputy Hagop “Jake” Kuredjian memorial in Stevenson Ranch.

At the memorial, a small prayer service was held by the Sheriff’s Department Chaplain.

After that, the runners all got moving again, and followed the same path back to College of the Canyons.

The run was a total of 5.4 miles, and earned the Academy cadets their respective “colors” and “patches.”

Deputy Kuredjian was gunned down during a shootout in Stevenson Ranch on August 31st, 2001.
