Sheriff’s officials arrested two teens at Valencia High School yesterday in connection with a string of tagging incidents, after one scene challenged deputies with the words “You will never catch me.”
The vandalism was reported on walls, electrical boxes and schools throughout the Castaic area in the last several months.
COBRA detectives searched the teen’s homes on the 28000 block of Bryce Drive in Castaic, and arrested the two16-year-old suspects at Valencia High School where they are students.
At least 18 tagging incidents have been attributed to the duo with the cost of damages reaching an estimated $20,000.
According to Los Angeles County Code, cost recovery can be ordered during court proceedings relating to vandalism cases. In the cases of juvenile defendants, parents are expected to pay the cost recovery which can be as high as $1,187 per vandalism incident.
