Sheriff’s Promote Safe Driving During Rainy Weather

Accidents abound, some traffic lights impacted.

[view:node_ad=5] As the rainy weather invades Santa Clarita, traffic
accidents have dramatically increased.

The Santa Clarita Sheriff's station is asking all residents
to employ safe driving techniques.

Slowing down can greatly improve your reaction time,
especially in wet weather, as your car will suffer from diminished braking performance.

Another important thing to remember is that you must follow
basic traffic rules should traffic lights lose power.

Four-way stop sign rules apply when a light is blinking red,
or when it is completely without power.

This issue was demonstrated early Saturday morning when
several cars were involved in accidents at Newhall
Ranch Road and Bouquet
Canyon, where the traffic light had
lost electricity.  Some vehicles stopped
as they should, and others ran the intersection.
