Sheriff’s Station Releases Weekly Crime Reports For 10/07-10/13

The rash of armed robberies continues across our valley, of both businesses and individuals. Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives continue to investigate the incidents. One suspect was convicted in court.

Deputy Sung Pak of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s has been suspended without pay after he fired his service revolver into the air to scare off several teenagers who had been playing “ding-dong-ditch” at his Westridge home on Saturday. Pak is not an employee of the Santa Clarita Valley Station.

Three armed robberies in Newhall and Valencia on Tuesday night have detectives searching for two male suspects between 17 and 20 years old. One woman was stabbed, and the other victims escaped unhurt.

Demarie Mackey, 23, of Palmdale was found guilty of one count of armed robbery on Wednesday. He robbed a Bank of America in Newhall. He will be tried for similar crimes in Ventura County before being sentenced in January.

Below are reports from different Sheriff zone’s throughout the SCV. KHTS lists the zones in alphabetical order and they are made available.

Here’s a summary of incidents that took place in the last week in Santa Clarita.

Canyon Country east

During the week of Oct. 7-13 the following part 1 crimes occurred in the Canyon Country East: (4) Grand theft autos, (4) Residential burglaries, (2) Thefts from vehicles.

There were 4 vehicles stolen from the East Canyon Country area. All of the vehicles were recovered within 2 days of them being stolen.

A residential burglary occurred near the 16000 block of Minter Court. The suspect made entry by shattering the victims bedroom window. The suspects stole an Apple laptop from the victim and caused nearly $3,000 in damage to the property.

A garage burglary was reported near the 27000 block of Sara Street. It is unknown how the suspects made entry into the garage as there was no signs of forced entry. The suspect stole a pair of Armani sunglasses from a vehicle parked inside the garage.

A vehicle was stolen from a garage near the 17000 block of Pauline Court. The suspects entered the open garage and stole a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. The victim had left a wedding ring along with her purse inside the vehicle when she parked it in her garage.

 

Canyon Country west

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

(2) Aggravated Assaults, (1) Robbery, (1) Commercial Burglary, (1) Vehicle Burglary, (1) Theft From an Unlocked Vehicle, (1) Shoplift, (1) Grand Theft, (1) Petty Theft and (1) GTA.

An aggravated assault occurred near the 26500 block of Kandi Court. Two family members were involved in a fight and when the fight escalated, the suspect produced a knife. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies and the case is currently under investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

A strong arm robbery occurred near the 26400 block of Carl Boyer Drive. The suspect fought with loss prevention personnel as they attempted to detain him for shoplifting. The suspect was subsequently arrested by responding deputies.

A commercial burglary occurred near the 19000 block of Soledad Canyon Road. An unknown suspect shattered the front glass door with a rock. Upon entering the location, the suspect broke into the cash register and took an undisclosed amount of money.

A vehicle burglary occurred at the Park and Ride near Golden Valley Road and the 14 Freeway. An unknown suspect “punched” the driver’s door lock to gain entry into the vehicle and took several pieces of electronic equipment.

A female suspect was arrested for a petty theft/shoplift near the 18600 block of Via Princessa. The suspect was detained by loss prevention personnel after she exited the location, failing to pay for items she concealed in her purse.

A 1992 Honda Prelude was stolen near the 19000 block of Stillmore Street. The vehicle was recovered nearby, shortly after the incident.

 

Stevenson Ranch

There were seven reported part-one crimes between the above dates in Zone 3. Here are some details regarding some of the reported crimes:

A burglary to a vehicle was reported from the 24900 block of Pico Canyon Road. This incident occurred on Thursday, Oct. 10 between 4:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. An unknown suspect(s) damaged a motorhome, security gate, and took the ignition keys for a second motorhome. An investigation is on-going as to further details of this incident (ref -13922). Another burglary was also reported to have occurred between Thursday, Oct. 10 and Friday, Oct. 11 at the same location. In this incident, unknown suspect(s) entered a locked motorhome and stole numerous items (ref -13976).

On Sunday, Oct. 13 at approximately 2:40 p.m., deputies responded to a call for service regarding domestic violence at the Chevron located at 27549 The Old Road. After an investigation, deputies arrested a 45-year-old female on domestic violence, grand theft auto and felony concentrated cannabis charges. A 48-year-old male was also arrested on domestic violence charges (ref -14051).
