Shoes Still Being Collected For Needy By Single Mothers Outreach

soles4soulsThe City of Santa Clarita is still in need of new shoes as part of the November shoe drive with the non-profit agency Soles4Souls Inc., which will benefit the Santa Clarita Winter Shelter and the locally based non-profit Single Mother’s Outreach.

City employee Susan Caputo is organizing the Santa Clarita shoe collection effort and hopes to donate hundreds of new pairs of shoes to both local non-profits just in time for the holidays.  New shoes most in need are tennis shoes for children, women, and men in a variety of sizes.

Residents interested in donating new shoes can do so at any of the following donation drop off locations:

  • Santa Clarita City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard
  • Santa Clarita Activities Center, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway
  • Canyon Country Library, located at 18601 Soledad Canyon Road
  • Newhall Library, located at 22704 West 9th Street
  • Valencia Library, located at 23743 Valencia Boulevard

“There’s no better way to give thanks this month than to donate a pair or two of new shoes to local residents in need,” said Caputo.  “Every pair of new shoes donated will stay right here in our community.  We look forward to distributing hundreds of pairs of new shoes to families and children in need as we head into the holiday season and cooler winter months.”

Gently used shoes are also being accepted at all donation sites and will be disseminated to people in need with the help of Soles4Souls.  Residents interested in more information about the November shoe drive in partnership with Soles4Souls should visit for more information or contact Susan Caputo, deputy city clerk, at (661) 255-4334.
