A 28-year-old Hispanic man was shot in the leg last night near the intersection of Fahren Court and Sumac Court in Canyon Country.

According to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department the shooting occurred at 9:48 p.m. A .40 caliber shell casing was found at the scene. The incident was described as a walk-up shooting and may be gang related.

The injury was not considered life threatening.

Just blocks away at the 18000 block of Annes Circle a homeowner’s car was reportedly burglarized of between $200 and $300.

Santa Clarita deputies say at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday a suspect wearing skinny jeans and a horizontally striped shirt entered an open garage door, broke into a locked vehicle and took a Chase bank bag filled with cash.

The suspect was last scene fleeing towards Sandy Drive.
