Deputies now asking for public’s help to bring suspect into custody.
[view:node_ad=5]Just five hours into the New Year, Santa Clarita Sheriff’s deputies were called out to the 18000 block of Grace Lane in Canyon Country to investigate a shooting. The incident involved a domestic dispute between 30-year-old Seferino Benjamin Grajeda, and his live-in girlfriend. The argument reportedly became so severe, that the girlfriend called her father to the home to safely remove the couple’s children.
After arriving, the father helped usher his daughter and grandchildren into an awaiting car. However, at some point during the exit, detectives believe that Grajeda shot the father one time in the upper torso.
After the shooting Grajeda fled the scene in a burgundy Cadillac Escalade and has not been seen since.
The father was driven to a nearby fire station and then taken to a local hospital where he is recovering from his injuries.
A 1.5 million dollar felony warrant for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm has been issued for Grajeda and he is believed to be armed and dangerous. Grajeda reportedly carries a silver colored semi-automatic handgun.
Santa Clarita Sheriff’s officials are asking anyone with information on Grajeda’s whereabouts to contact them immediately at 661-255-1121. If you see Grajeda, deputies advise that you do not make contact, and instead call 911.
