On October 23, attendees at the Santa Clarita Emblem Club #459 boutique and bake sale can check some important items off their shopping list and help those less fortunate at the same time.
All proceeds will provide scholarships for children, holiday food baskets for needy families and will benefit other Emblem charities.
The event will feature more than 40 vendors, selling merchandise for men, women and children. Providing some entertainment will be songwriter, actress and author Lucinda Sue Crosby.

“She has had quite the life,” said Grace Elliott, a representative from the Santa Clarita chapter of the Emblem Club. “What a talent.”
Crosby will be talking about her new novel, Francesca of Lost Nation, based on her grandmother, who was a pilot, drove race cars and was an established poker player. In the book, Crosby and her grandmother tackle a local town mystery and unveil the startling truth behind the town’s name.
“It’s a great opportunity for everyone to get to know Francesca. I feel so great.” said Crosby.
Crosby will be signing copies of her book during the event.
Local artist Karen Mills will also be on hand to give demonstrations and lesson on Chinese watercolor paintings.
The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 17766 Sierra Highway, Santa Clarita, CA 91351.
A national organization, the Emblem Club began 1917 with a group of women promoting patriotic endeavors. With clubs established across the country, members are dedicated to charitable acts and promoting the principles of the American flag and constitution.
