Signal Publisher Ousted, Escorted From Building

Former Media News Group president brought in to turn paper around.

Former Signal Publisher Jay Harn was escorted from the building on Creekside
Road today. He was replaced by Ian Lamont, a business
advocate and former president, publisher and CEO of the Alameda Newspaper
Group, a subsidiary of  MediaNews Group
Inc., which publishes the Los Angeles Daily News, a position he held for just
over six months.

Lamont, who has a reputation for turning around troubled businesses, most recently
served as the president of the Long Beach Small Business Development
Corporation. He has served in various leadership roles for non-profit
organizations and a profile of his company, The Lamont Group, touts his
experience with Fortune 500 companies, trade associations, e-commerce
corporations.

According to the profile, “Ian is known for his ability to come into a
situation and bring energy, passion and focus in creating a strategic plan as a
foundation for implementing successful and sustainable growth opportunities,
whether it is people, teams, revenue or profits.”
