Silver Spur Goes To Rita Garasi

COC Foundation’s prestigious award goes to long time community advocate.

Saturday night, College of the Canyons Foundation bestowed its most prominent award on Rita Garasi, a Santa Clarita resident since 1970.

 

Her accomplishments were called to light at the Sony Studios Corporate Headquarters.

 

Garasi had her hand in a variety of major Santa Clarita issues including; the Environmental Impact Report for Elsmere Canyon, chairing Henry Mayo’s Board of Directors, managing political campaigns for Buck McKeon and other politicians, chairing two capital campaigns for College of the Canyons totaling a quarter billion in funds, and chairing the Formation Committee for the City of Santa Clarita.    

 

KHTS would like to congratulate Rita and thank her for her numerous contributions to the wellbeing and success of Santa Clarita.

 

Rita is married to Lou Garasi.
