Single Mothers Outreach will celebrate the opening of their new headquarters office at 26881 Ruether Avenue in Santa Clarita from 5 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.  The event will include special presentations, tours, appetizers and holiday cheer.

The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce will support the event, acknowledging the growth and accomplishments of the SMO organization who served over 500 families in 2010. Single Mothers Outreach is the only Santa Clarita Valley agency that exclusively helps single parents and their children move forward by providing education and access to resources such as clothing, food, jobs, housing and more.

This month the SMO organization launched its Building Lives Campaign with the goal of raising $75,000 by December 31. To date, contributions have reached approximately $30,000.00. Donations from the campaign will fund the programs and services offered to single parent families in Santa Clarita, such as educational subsidies, training through Financial Peace University, technology training, the clothes closet and many other resources and services.
