Single Mothers Outreach Success Story

Local non-profit organization details some good news.

From the Single Mothers Outreach:

Each month we present a short story showing how Single Mothers Outreach meets the needs of single mothers and their children living in the Santa Clarita Valley, improving their quality of life and positively impacting our community.

Her Story

Ashley grew up in a home with drug addicted parents and she became a mother at 16.  Now 22, she has a 6 year old son and a 2 year old daughter.  The father of her children was physically abusive and is in jail for at least a year.  Ashley found herself repeating her parents' mistakes. She came to SMO seeking counseling for herself and her son (who is traumatized from seeing his parents' drug use and domestic violence). Ashley wants a better existence for her and her family.

Ashley is working hard to make the changes necessary to provide a better life for her family. After she is finished with the case management sessions, we will enroll her in other SMO growth programs.
