Small Business Owners Offered Information On Health Insurance Options

khts_businessnews3On Friday, September 17, the California Small Business Development Center will hold its Health Insurance Solutions Conference at the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center at the College of the Canyons.

Local entrepreneurs and small business owners interested in learning about accessible health insurance options in today’s trying economy are encouraged to attend.

“All the federal legislature certainly brought this to our attention,” said Steve Tannehill, Director of the California Small Business Development Center. “We looked at several surveys filled out by small business owners, and getting health insurance was consistently one of their top three concerns.”

Tannehill said the first half of the conference will be devoted to the new healthcare legislation, discussing who is impacted and on what dates. During the other half, speakers will advise small business owners on what they can do to achieve health insurance today.

Bill Gill, Chief Executive Officer of Facey Medical Group, and representatives from Small Business Majority, a national nonprofit that supports small businesses, will also take part in the conference.

The free event will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and will be held in Room 258 of the University Center.

Those wishing to attend can RSVP at sbdc@canyons.edu or by calling (661) 263-5900.
