Small Business Workshop Tonight

Local Businesses Invited to Workshop.

ImageIs your small business facing increased costs of doing business, common area maintenance charges, or rent increases? The City of Santa Clarita will discuss these topics and much more with local small businesses at the Small Business Seminar on Thursday, April 19th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chambers, located at 23920 Valencia Blvd.

During the workshop, speakers will discuss topics such as the 10 dos and don'ts of a lease, benefits of the Enterprise Zone, loans available to small businesses, business counseling, business plans, the small business guide, and issues pertaining to Common Area Maintenance charges.

“The workshop is a great way to provide information to a large number of business people about programs available that they may not be aware of,” commented Carrie Rogers, City Economic Development Manager.

Representatives from Poole & Shaffery LLP, Bank of Santa Clarita, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), LBW Insurance & Financial Services, Valley Industrial Association (VIA), the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, and an independent business consultant will be on hand to provide small businesses with information about their organizations and the benefits of membership.

Featured speakers include: Mayor Marsha McLean; Director of the SBDC, Paul De La Cerda; City of Santa Clarita Economic Development Manager, Carrie Rogers; Vice President and Regional Manager of the Bank of Santa Clarita, Elizabeth Hopp; business consultant, David Delawder; and LBW Insurance and Financial Services, Randy Moberg.

Food and coffee will be provided thanks to Poor Boy and It's A Grind.
