Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing On Saugus Street

khts_trafficalertMotorists on Newhall Ranch Road got a surprise Wednesday afternoon when a plane made an emergency landing on Santa Clarita Parkway near the major thoroughfare.

 

 

At approximately 5:25 p.m., a small Cardinal 177 (Cessna-type plane) developed engine trouble while enroute from San Luis Obispo to Van Nuys Airport and the pilot brought it down for a soft landing in Saugus.

The pilot, Kashif Khursheed, 40, landed the plane heading northbound on the southbound lanes of Santa Clarita Parkway. Neither he nor his passenger, Alberto Behar, were injured. No other parties were injured and no residences in the area were damaged.
