Smiles Get A Place To Call Home

The Foundation for Children’s Dental Health is coming together in a new office, providing better access to the community they serve.

The group has been helping children of the Santa Clarita Valley for more than 16 years and the move is the first time the foundation will have a permanent location.

Previously the group worked out of dental offices that were volunteered, or preformed the majority of other work in homes.

In addition to providing children with dental services, the FCDH also conducts screening at local schools, educates children on the importance of oral health, and holds local children’s dental clinics two times a year.

“Our goal is to increase children and parents awareness of good oral hygiene, and decrease the number of children needing urgent dental care,” said Ericka Watson, Executive Director of the foundation.

The accusation of a new office makes FCDH more accessible to families by allow them to come to an office rather then conduct business through phone and mail.

Last year through the foundations programs like dental screenings, preventative education, and dental clinics more than 3,500 children were able to benefit from their services.

To celebrate the new office the foundation is partnering up with the SCV Chamber of Commerce to have a grand opening from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on December 3.

The event takes place at 23752 Newhall Ave. in Newhall.
