Sightings of smoke hovering above Stevenson Ranch and West
Ranch High School
are simply leftover effects of a movie shoot taking place further up Pico
Canyon, the sheriff’s department
has reported.

Several callers to the station have reported seeing a tall
black plume of smoke over the school, but the smoke is the residual effect of a
permitted film shoot. According to the permit, 500 gallons of gas were scheduled
to be burned for special effects for a film at a location just north of
Mentryville historic park.
