Legislative ‘Report Card’ Shows Lawmaker’s Support for Taxpayers

ImageAssemblyman Smyth, has announced that he scored a perfect 100 percent on the California Taxpayers’ Association legislative voting record, showing strong support for the taxpayers of this state.

“I am extremely proud to receive this rating from such a great organization,” said Smyth.  “I will continue to fight so Californians can put more of their hard earned money in their pockets and less of it in wasteful bureaucratic government programs.”

The California Taxpayers’ Association is a non-partisan organization representing taxpayers for over 80 years as the state’s oldest watchdog on tax and other public finance issues.

“Californians should be proud of the lawmakers who consistently protect hard-working residents from being forced to pay higher taxes,” said Teresa Casazza, acting president of the California Taxpayers’ Association. “Legislators who score 100 percent on taxpayers’ issues are standing with the people, and they deserve recognition for fending off the vocal special interests that believe the government should be taking even more of our money.”

The Cal-Tax Voting Record, available online at www.caltax.org, is compiled annually to provide Californians with a valuable tool to determine how state legislators acted on major tax and fiscal legislation, and to hold elected officials accountable for anti-taxpayer votes.
