Smyth Names Route 66 Small Business Of The Year

Owner George Thomas gives back to community.

Assemblyman Cameron Smyth, R-Santa Clarita, honored George Thomas, owner of Route 66 Classic Grill in Canyon Country, CA, at the Small Business Day Luncheon in Sacramento.

 

“George Thomas embodies the character, intelligence, and work ethic that all business owners strive for,” said Smyth.  “Not only is he a successful businessman, but he is also a community leader who has used his achievement as a platform to be able to help others and give back to the community.”

 

Mr. Thomas is also a retired police officer, having served a number of years with the Los Angeles Police Department.  A longtime resident of the Santa Clarita Valley, George has been active in a variety of community organizations, including his time spent as a member of the Board of Directors for the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.  He also provides financial and community support to a host of non-profit and charitable organizations by making his Route 66 Grill available to those organizations for fundraisers and gathering spots for special events.  In addition to his business endeavors, George Thomas is a kind man who gives freely of his time to help those less fortunate. 

 

“I am honored to be able to present George with this prestigious award and cannot think of a more deserving individual.”

 

The Small Business Day Luncheon was held at 12 pm on Wednesday, May 2nd at the Sacramento Convention Center.
