Members of the Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley, the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley and members of NorthPark Community Church in Valencia gathered on Sunday, February 24 for a Day of Service.NorthPark hosted the volunteers, who made 100 tied fleece blankets for Mending Kids International, a non-profit organization that provides surgery to children who otherwise would not receive necessary medical care.

The blankets were bundled with stuffed animals and goodies for children receiving treatment in locations such as Haiti, Christmas Island and Ethiopia.
They also created care-packages for medical teams and “party bags” to celebrate successful missions.
The Chair of the Mending Kids International Glenn Dabatos and his wife Mary Jane participated in the Day of Service, and were impressed with enthusiasm and energy of the gathering.
“I have never seen so much joyful energy poured out in two hours,” he said.
