Skiing and more importantly, snowboarding coaches needed
Special Olympics, which offers almost any sport, from bowling to basketball, is looking to add two more sports on to that list.
With the winter season upon us, Special Olympics of Santa Clarita will be offering both skiing and snowboarding for its athletes.
The organization must have a 1 to 4 coach athlete ratio, and with 8 skiing coaches, all the athletes who have signed up, can participate. But with only 3 snowboarding coaches, 5 more instructors are needed in order for all those who have signed up to take part in snowboarding.
Coaches must be 16 years old, have experience, and be available on Saturdays for on the ground training and conditioning. The instructors will go to Bear Mountain with the athletes, on January 15th and February 7th, to hit the slopes.
If you have any experience in either field and wish to be a Special Olympics coach, please call (661) 253-2121 and speak with either Scott or Wendy.
