Officers from the California Highway Patrol found more than they bargained for when they stopped to help a disabled pickup truck on the 210 freeway Sunday morning.
Around 12:35 a.m., the CHP officers stopped to help the driver of a 1991 Nissan Frontier truck that was blocking the #2 lane of the eastbound 210 Roxford Street offramp.
Approaching the vehicle, officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana emitting from the vicinity of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed five large plastic garbage bags filled with nearly 75 pounds of marijuana in the bed of the pickup.
