County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich said that while the County budget passed today, the state’s failure to deliver their budget on time has left the County in limbo.
“Riddled by gimmickry and a “pass-the-buck” mentality, the Governor and the state legislature’s failure to meet the June 15 constitutional deadline to pass their budget has put every county, school district and city in a holding pattern waiting for the other shoe to drop,” said Antonovich. “As a result of the dysfunctional state budget process, the County is struggling to meet mandated obligations in a budget plan that resembles Swiss cheese.”
