In honor of Older Americans month, The County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) will participate in a month long adoption promotion, aimed towards senior citizens and senior pets.
The promotion, Super Senior May: Never Too Old to Play, began May 1 and and will run through May 31.

DACC will sponsor two different promotions during the month of May. The first is intended to honor and celebrate senior citizens. To encourage community seniors to adopt, DACC will waive the adoption fee for senior citizens (60+ years, with proper identification) throughout the month.
To encourage the adoption of senior pets, DACC will also discount the adoption fee for senior pets (animals 5 years+). Senior animals make wonderful companion pets and are the prime choice for individuals who do not want the responsibility of training and raising a puppy. Senior pets are also usually more adaptable and integrate well into a new environment. Senior pets are often house trained, have good manners, and have picked up basic lessons and commands, since most of them have lived with a family.
Super Senior May: Never Too Old to Play is sponsored by the Los Angeles Animal Alliance (www.laanimalalliance.org). The promotion is valid at all County of Los Angeles Animal Care Centers, as well as other local animal care agencies throughout Southern California.
