Supervisor Recognizes Hart Wind Ensemble For Superior Rating and Performance

At the Board of Supervisors meeting on May 10, 2005, Supervisor Michael
D. Antonovich presented scrolls to the William S. Hart High School Wind
Ensemble and their Director Anthony Bailey in recognition of their
“unanimous superior” rating and their recent performance at the
world-famous Carnegie Hall. The Wind Ensemble has had a consecutive string of “unanimous superior
ratings” in concert competition that began in the spring of 2001.  A
“unanimous superior” rating is only granted when all the judges give a
grade of superior in both concert performance and post-performance
sight-reading clinic, which does not happen often.

The ensemble’s success culminated in a chance to perform at the
world-famous Carnegie Hall on March 25, 2005.  The Hart Wind Ensemble
and their Director took the stage, performing “Redline Tango” and “Away
Day,” selections typically played by only the highest ranking collegiate
and professional ensembles.
