There is still plenty of time to adopt a rubber ducky for Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers’ 11th annual Rubber Ducky Festival on Saturday, October 5. Bridgeport Park is hosting the event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Participants can adopt their ducks online, and early registration is open until Friday. Those who adopt a duck by Friday will be entered to win a $250 Cash gift card, a $100 gas card and a gift basket of women’s beauty products.
The festival is SDFHC’s signature fundraising event, providing patient care funding throughout the year. Last year they raised more than $90,000 for patient care at SDFHC’s three health centers in Canyon Country, Newhall and Val Verde.
This years prizes for the duck race include:
- Grand Prize: $2,500 cash gift card
- Second Prize: $1,500 cash gift card
- Third Prize: $500 cash gift card
In addition to duck races, games and activities, the event will feature entertainment and food trucks including In-N-Out Burger, Downtown Dogs and Tango Mango Italian Ice Co.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich serves as this year’s Honorary Chairman; City of Santa Clarita Mayor Bob Kellar returns as Master of Ceremonies; Ed Bolden, SDFHC vice president of fundraising, serves as this year’s festival chairman.
Local sponsors for this event include Santa Clarita Valley Rotary, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, Point of View Communications, SOS Entertainment, C.A. Rasmussen Inc, HandsOn Santa Clarita, Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc.

Rubber ducks can be adopted individually or in groups. Cost is $5 per duck. A “Quack Family” (6 ducks) costs $25. A “Quacker’s Dozen” (12 ducks) costs $50. And, a “Duck Flock” (24 ducks) costs $100.
Each duck purchased is entered into the race and its owner automatically eligible for prizes announced at the races. Ducks can also be adopted at the event or by calling the SDFHC office at 661-257-2339.
