The man caught on videotape during a robbery of Vincenzo’s Pizza in Saugus is in custody, arrested by the LAPD after some detective work by local deputies.

Lt. Steve Low of the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station said that James William Brammer, 57, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of 11 armed robbery incidents in the Topanga area and one in Frazier Park, as well as the Vincenzo’s January 8 holdup.

In that incident, the suspect held up the pizza parlor at gunpoint shortly after 10 p.m. No one was injured in the robbery and the suspect fled. He was described as being in his 50s, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds.

Brammer spent 18 years in state prison for armed robbery and was paroled in April 2009. He is being held in Valley Division Jail in Van Nuys on a no-bail California Department of Corrections parole hold; his bail for the dozen alleged robberies is $250,000.

“LAPD had flyers out about their robberies and our detectives contacted them about this incident,” Low said. “Most likely we will present evidence linking Brammer to the Vincenzo’s robbery along with Kern County and LAPD, regarding his involvement in a series of robberies.”
