Sgt. Sam Soehnel of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said deputies identified the vehicle as previously stolen when they ran the license plate.

The incident occurred at the Lyons Station Shopping Center at Lyons Avenue and Apple street. Technically it was a car crash – but in fact, the suspect ran over a retaining wall in a back alley between the Pizza Hut restaurant and Goodyear Tires and got stuck, straddling the wall with its front wheels dangling over the edge. The driver then fled on foot into the neighborhood.
